John wanted to refresh his Vaterra Twin Hammers to make it look totally different. He found a Tamiya bug body on eBay and a new bare chassis of some generic brand similar car and robbed the lime green roll cage and rear end support rods from that. He also found some slightly brown-toned Austar aluminum wheels, which was when he decided to come up with a paint color scheme around the brown and lime. He searched out some Testors lime green paint that was close and went with a tan and brown to finish it off. It reminded him of the root beer color on a friend’s ‘57 Chevy so he named it the Root Beer Float since the tan was sort of vanilla ice cream color andcut the “Root Beer Float” graphics from neon vinyl for contrast.
