Matt has sent us pix of several of his custom vintage dragsters, but this one is designed to put on a show like few others. Patterned after the exhibition dragsters of the ‘60s and ‘70s this square-body Blazer replaces its front-mounted small block with a blown alcohol big block hung way out back. That plus the RC4WD Blazer body’s short wheelbase makes it perfect for sustaining show-stopping wheelies—just as the custom decals on the sides promise. To make it work Matt scratch-built his own aluminum chassis on an 11.5-inch wheelbase. The front suspension is Tamiya but it doesn’t see a lot of use! Out back is an Integy gearbox for the rear/mid-mounted Castle Creations 4600kv Sidewinder motor. Shortened Traxxas Rustler suspension arms and drive shafts allow the big Pro-Line Hoosier drag slicks to sit inside the bed. The motor is a 3D-printed Dark Dragon Wing big block with a rear-mounted blower drive and zoomie headers, plus a fuel cell. Traxxas wheelie bars keep the tailgate from dragging, and a Tamiya driver figure holds the wheel.
Based on a Scratch built chassis
